Wondering where to go with the little ones this Summer and you've already been to all the local attractions? We've collated a few suggestions from around the UK for a fab day out which we've enjoyed in the past with our grandkids in tow.

These are family-friendly and big hits that never fail to delight. Nothing quite like those giggles and muddy knees, is there?

So if you’ve got a toddler or two to entertain, here are some lovely spots worth visiting dotted around the UK - just remember to take plenty of snacks for the journey!

Peppa Pig World (Paultons Park, Hampshire) - Our Grandchildren's Favourite Day Out

If your little one’s a Peppa fan (and let’s face it, most are!), this place is an absolute winner. It’s bright, cheerful, and just the right size for small children. If you didn't know as well, Peppa Pig now has a new baby sister! So it's a great time to visit as they celebrate the arrival of Baby Evie. Anywho, the rides are gentle, the staff are kind, and it’s surprisingly clean for a theme park. Don’t be surprised if they talk about it for weeks afterwards.

Cotswold Farm Park (Gloucestershire)

We had such a lovely day here - and it's a great messy one! The kids got to feed the animals and run wild in the play areas. They’ve got tractors, lambs, and a great café with proper coffee for the grown-ups. Bring wellies if it’s rained recently—it can get a bit squelchy! Find out more here.

Warwick Castle (Warwickshire)

Now, I know a castle might sound like something for older kids, but they’ve really made it magical for younger ones too. There’s a Zog trail (based on the book), live shows, and the birds of prey display is always a hit—even with toddlers! Under 2's go for free and they offer a parent and toddler ticket which can be purchased online here for the slightly older ones (which Grandparents can use), so check it out and be organised for the best deals.

Thomas Land (at Drayton Manor, Staffordshire)

If your grandchild is anything like mine, they’re obsessed with trains. Thomas Land is perfect for them. It’s part of a bigger park, but the Thomas bit is very much geared towards little ones—lots of gentle rides and familiar faces. They were buzzing with excitement the whole time.

RHS Garden Wisley (Surrey)

A peaceful, pretty spot that’s great for letting toddlers explore at their own pace. There’s a lovely natural play area with water, sand, and mud kitchens (don’t wear white!). And when everyone’s had enough, there’s good ice cream and shady spots to sit.

If you're a bit further north, the perfect rainy day out is the museum, (and let's face it, we get plenty of rain up here!) The museum is fantastic, with loads of interactive things for children, including a special play area for under-5s. And it’s free, which is always a bonus.

Blackpool Beach & Sandcastle Waterpark (Lancashire)

A bit of old-fashioned seaside fun. We built sandcastles, dipped toes in the sea, and had chips on the promenade. The Sandcastle indoor waterpark is brilliant too, especially if the weather turns. Warm water, splash zones—it’s a toddler paradise. Simple pack swimsuits, towels and the usual bits and bobs!

The Story Museum (Oxford)

If your little one loves stories, this is a lovely place to visit. It’s got cosy corners for reading, interactive exhibits, and just the right amount of magic. We went on a rainy Tuesday and ended up staying for hours. Find out more here.

Our recent visit to the Sea Life Centre Weymouth with our Granddaughters

Sea Life Centre (Multiple Locations)

And our personal favourite for our 2 year old granddaughter is to go to a Sea Life Centre. We particularly loved the Weymouth one, with its HUGE Caribbean Cove playground and fun splash park (so pack their swim suit and a towel!). It was also very pram-friendly for our 1-year-old granddaughter You can find all their locations here (not all have a splash park - check their website for more)

Wherever you end up, my best advice is to keep it simple. Toddlers don’t need fancy, they just want space to explore, snacks every half hour, and someone to clap when they go down the slide. Whatever you do, just enjoy the time. They grow up quickly (and don't we know it!).

Don't forget, we've also sourced the best places to eat this Summer where Grandchildren can eat for free or as little as £1. Click here to check out the best deals.
